What Is Maine Restaurant Week?
Maine Restaurant Week is an annual event that local Maine chefs and foodies look forward to each year. Running from March 1st to 12th, the tradition began in 2008 in an effort to help local restaurants boost business during the slow winter months. During this week-long celebration, local restaurants offer special prix fixe menus for lunch and dinner featuring select items from their regular menu.
These incredible local chefs are sure to be showing off their expertise in creating delicious dishes. Maine Restaurant Week is an opportunity for diners to experience a variety of local chefs’ best dishes at an affordable price while also giving local businesses a much-needed boost during the off-season. This year, more than 70 restaurants throughout the state and Portland area will be participating, including Brickyard Hollow Brewing.
Supporting Preble Street
While Maine Restaurant Week is a way for locals to explore the best of Maine cuisine, it’s also an opportunity to support those in need. MRW puts on multiple culinary events to showcase local produce, local chefs, and local businesses, donating proceeds from the event ticket sales to Preble Street, a local non-profit committed to providing accessible services to people experiencing problems with homelessness, housing, hunger, and poverty in Maine.
About Preble Street
In 1975, Preble Street was founded as a neighborhood center to involve and empower homeless and low-income residents. Today, the non-profit has become the hub of programs for Portland’s most vulnerable and underserved residents. From providing meals to crisis intervention, from clean clothes to healthcare, from shelter to permanent homes, Preble Street programs meet urgent needs and advocate for solutions to homelessness and hunger.
Maine Restaurant Week At Brickyard Hollow
Brickyard Hollow is proud to participate in the 15th year of Maine Restaurant Week at our Portland location! From March 1st-12th, we’re offering a slice of our unique craft pizza and a pint of our locally brewed craft beer for just 7 dollars. Our locally-owned craft brewery pub specializes in unique pizzas, pub fare, and our own Maine-brewed beers. Swing by 9 Commercial St. to check us out and see what all the buzz is about. Do you have dietary needs? We offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Ask your server for suggestions or please feel free to call ahead.
March Pizza With Potential Collaboration With Rí Rá Irish Pub & Restaurant
We’re so excited about our March collaboration with Rí Rá, Portland’s famous Irish Pub!
Brickyard Hollow’s Pizza With Potential initiative is a unique and innovative way to address childhood hunger in Maine and support local restaurants and chefs at the same time. Each month, we partner with a local restaurant to bring you an exciting new collab pizza of the month. One dollar for every pizza sold is donated to Full Plates Full Potential, a local non-profit committed to ending childhood food insecurity in Maine. In addition to our donation, the participating restaurant carries our beer for the month and donates $1 for each sold to Full Plates.
This month’s Pizza with Potential is Rí Rá’s “St. Patrick’s Pizza,” featuring mashed potatoes, Guinness beef with mushroom toppings, cheese curds, and scallions! Swing by any of our Greater Portland locations (Freeport, Ogunquit, Yarmouth, or Portland) to try this pizza of the month and support a local Maine charity.
