Ogunquit Museum of American Art

One of our favorite things to do in Ogunquit is to check out the thriving art scene! The Ogunquit Museum of American Art holds a rich history and exhibitions of American art dating from the late 1800s until the present day. The museum was founded in 1953 by Henry Strater and originally featured works by artists associated with Ogunquit’s famous art colony of the early 20th century. Whether you enjoy modern art or art history, The Ogunquit Museum of American Art houses a permanent collection of important paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, and photographs from the late 1800s to the present. They host tours, art classes, workshops, and other events to connect with the community. Check them out the next time you’re in Ogunquit!

Maine is known for its gorgeous beaches, and Ogunquit is no exception. Ogunquit Beach is stunning, with over 3.5 miles of soft sand beaches to explore. It’s also extremely accessible, with plenty of public parking and public restrooms nearby. Ogunquit Beach is a picture-perfect spot to walk, sunbathe, play, swim, relax, and enjoy the breeze. It’s also within walking distance from the newest Brickyard Hollow location! Pick up some lobster rolls and canned brews to go from our Ogunquit Brewery, then head to the beach for a true Maine Summer experience! 

Ogunquit Memorial Library

This Romanesque-style public library was built in 1897 and has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1983. This library is a truly beautiful place to cool off on a hot day, relax, read, and appreciate the beautiful architecture. Ogunquit Memorial Library has weekly speakers, activities, and kids programs to stay involved in the community. The library is unique, full of history, and definitely worth a visit. 

Perkins Cove

What was once a small fishing community and artist’s colony is now a charming cove with art galleries, shopping, and restaurants. With the Atlantic Ocean on one side and a small harbor on the other, Perkins Cove has scenic water views to enjoy from every angle. You can take a sailboat or lobster boat tour or have a picnic on the rocks with delicious craft beer and pizza from Brickyard

Ogunquit playhouse

The Ogunquit Playhouse is one of the country’s last original, authentic theaters. This iconic and historic theater started as a renovated garage in Ogunquit’s town square back in 1933. Since then, the playhouse has become a critically acclaimed and industry-renowned production company, putting on Broadway productions and musical theater 26 weeks out of the year. The playhouse showcases incredible talent, and many Broadway actors such as Sally Struthers, Bette Davis, Carson Kressley, and Andrea McArdle have graced the stage. This is a great way to see a piece of Ogunquit’s history while enjoying a high-caliber production. The playhouse also features children’s theater and family matinee performances that often include Disney and famous storybook characters. Mount Agamenticus

Discover unique views of Maine with a hike up Mount Agamenticus! The conservation boasts 10,000 acres of trails that range in difficulty and incredible views of both land and sea. If you’d like to hike, bike, or bring the kids and dog, you’ll find a trail for your adventure. Some trails are even open to ATV riders and equestrians! Stop at our Ogunquit Brewery beforehand and grab some refreshing brews to celebrate with at the summit!
